body buying what groceries they
need and paying up promptly
So we Lre going to have a good
town The paper published an
ad last week about Van's bread
being of high quality that rang
with much truth It's as nice a
fine-grained bread as I ever saw
Those who have known it was
not alwa s so should give their
new bread an unprejudiced trial
Jel-Eye is another name for
the same thing that we know as
Jell° I wouldn't be so free to
recommend this substitute beef
foot extract if I had not had re
liOle housekeepers to try it out
You pay ten cents a package for
the Jell° This you get "three
for a quarter " Iodized salt is
considered very beneficial to the
health Some doctors pronounce
It the best mouth wash of any of
the high priced tooth pastes
Rob Ross' Pancske Flour has
been very popular and now we
have the Rot' Ross Maple Syrup
Suppose you try the twain the
next time Mench's Salad Dress
ing is one of about the biggest
little bueinesses that ever come to
town One lady who has been
buying by the quart has placed
her order for a gallon next week
Some people think they prefer
fresh green beans to the cann d
ones Corn and other canned
vegetables are thought a great
deal more of when they are of
the high quality goods You
should always call for the West
vale Okla green beans— "2 for
a quarter" Mrs Adamson told
me today that she considered
them about as good as the fresh
ones out of the garden
Some seemed to enjoy our
"specials" last Saturday It's
the first we had for awhile So
for stimulation and arnusemen
ment we try a few more next

In Ford cars which will be
shown during the National Show
week are incorporated improve-
ments in body design and con-
struction and chassis refinements
more pronounced than any made
in the history of the Model T
chassis Although thousands of
these improved cars are in oper-
ation all over the country at the
present time there are still many
persons who have not had oppor-
tunity to view the entire line and
inspect in detail the improve-
ments which have so greatly in-
creased the popularity of Ford
cars
The first impression of the
Ford cars for 1926 is one of in-
creased beauty and smartness
Bodies are longer and lower fen
ders hang low over the wheels
and closed cars are finished in
rich harmonious color schemes
But beauty is not the only quali-
ty to benefit by the redesigning
Riding comfort has been increas
ed by wider lower seats and
greater leg room New features
of convenience have also been
incorporated in these new cars
The gasoline tank is now filled
from outside the car and in the
open types a door at the driver's
left permits entry or exit with-
out disturbing the front seat pas-
senger Both transmission and
rear wheel brakes have been enlarged
Three More Tests
Begin in County
Oklahoma county is to get
three more oil tests immediately
It became known Saturday and
plans are under way for the
starting of at least two more
within the next thirty days
At the same time it was an-
nounced that the Maxine Petrol-
eum company had standardized
at 2787 feet in its No 1 Kelly
southwest of 914-1w north of
Arcadia and was drilling in a
gray lime The bit has been in
the lime for 24 feet This is the
most promising test in the cen
tral part of the state for for
mations are unusually high and
are of such character that geolo-
gists are betting that the bit will
enter pay soon
The next best bet is the test
started by O J EcLaughlin in
northwest of 15-14-2w northwest
of Edmond where a good oil
sand was picked up at 260 feet
Unable to carry on operations
McLaughlin and Harry L Ed-
miston have sold 440 of the 680
acres to F C and W II Young
of the Red Seal Refining com-
pany of Oklahoma City and
drilling has been resumed Sat
urday the depth was 301 feet
At the present time a small rig
is being used but if nothing is
picked up in the shallow strata
a deep test will be made F C
Young said Saturday The deal
was a 50-50 one he explained
and if production is had it will be
run to the Red Seal refinery C

Edmond has always been known as one of
the prettiest towns in the State We are
in a fair way to lose this reputation if a
great many people are not planning to do
a large amount of outside painting this
year A few citizens have already begun
Mr Stripling contracted for 100 gallons
this week Ed Shelden's house stands out
on Second street making even the well
kept houses around it show that a coat of
paint is needed
Devoe & Reynolds paints needs renewing
more seldom than other brands it main-
tains its whiteness and doesn't peel
Early spring is the best season to paint
Painters are not so busy now but will be
busy as paper hanging season opens

Ideas that have spurred people

there can be no great movements
therefore no progress Behind
every great or small action lies a
great or small thought No one
can monopolize thought neither
can anyone arrest its progress

great thoughts are mentioned in
