ant visit with relatives and friends

John Hunt deputy marshal of
llartshorne was in town the first
of the week visiting his' brother
C R Hunt and mother who are
very sick
Ivor Hughes and family re-
turned from Canada and will
make their home here again It
is thought that Dan Hughes will
also return soon They don’t like
the idea of snow being on the
ground two-thirds of the year
with the wind blowing about 50
miles an hour the most of the
time
Mose Meeks who pleaded guilty
here two years ago to the charge
of receiving stolen property and
drew a two year sentence has
been released from the State
penitentiary W II Laughiin
who was convicted and sentenced
to 19-months on the ciiarge of
stealing a steer from John Shaw
has also been discharged
Claude and' Frank Williams of
Gowen were given a preliminary
trial lefore Squire Williams Mon-
day on the charge of burglary
They were charged with burglar-
izing the Baker-Reidt store at
I Gowen which occurred sometime
I last week Claude Williams was
discharged but Frank pleaded
1 guilty to the charge and was
hound over Ilis bond was fixed
at $1000 which he was unable
i to give and is still in jail
A party of young people chap-

Hughes went horseback riding
