The Golden Years
The golden years are here at last
For me, so far it’s been a blast
it's hayrides, cook-outs,
Sing-a-longs and art.
Hot baths, beauty naps.
Dinner a la carte.
It’s quiet hours, even flowers.
And helpers at my door.
Who could ask for anything more.

Here at Wynnewood Care Center
we all would like to wish a very
special resident a happy birthday.
Vada Jacks celebrates her 100th
birthday with us this year. She's
‘not as old as the dirt' she says, but
she is as old as Oklahoma. She has
a sticker on her door that says "I've
survived @#*% near everything"
and by the way she runs things her
at the home, I believe it to be true.
All jokes aside (maybe) Vada has
become one of my very good
friends, of whom I look up to. She
has taught me a few things from
the day I started in 1997 and since
the day she practically hired me. I
was told if you make Vada happy
you have the job. Well, like I said,
we have been friends since and I'm
still here
Vada is the president of the
Resident Council and she is perfect
for the job. She speaks her mind
and will stand up to anyone for
what she believes to be right, even
if she might not be correct. Vada
has enjoyed art work, writing
poems and published several. She
enjoys socializing and most of all
is very proud of her Indian heritage.
I keep telling Vada that she is
going to live to be 150 years old
and she threatens me. But with all
her spunk I don’t doubt it. I love
you Vada and we all wish you a
