Carnegie Medal Candidate ! The Sleeping Village To The
Rev 0 R Stewart showed him-
self as a real hero (of the five-cent
novel typo) Sunday afternoon at
the Katy pond when he saved little
Clifford Wright from drowning A
number of boys who were out walk-
ing with Mr Stewart had stopped at
the pond and were enjoying them-
selves playing on the iee when
Clifford fell through into the icy
cold water which was over Ins head
Mr Stewart had quite a time in
reaching him as the ice was thin
and broke through with him a num-
ber of times before he reached the
boy It was fortunate indeed for
the boy that a man was with him
for while the rescue was nothing
much more than a very cold bath
it might have proven more serious
Mr Stewart who is pastor of our
church will now have to do a little
explaining though How come it
that the reverend gentleman hap-
pened to be doing such a nefarious
act as to be out walking on Sunday
afternoon 'and lowering his dignity
by playing on the ice with boys!
Then again not very many of we
Methodists believe in immersion
especially not on Sunday

Off To Market
Our Mr Clyde H Dunlap left February 4th for
the Chicago and St Louis markets and has since
been joined by Ira G and Carl W Dunlap and to-
gether they are buying big stocks of new spring
merchandise for their chain of stores And take it
from the “ad-man” the merchandise has got to have
quality right price snap and ginger and real style
that “gets by” with the Dunlap boys
A New Dunlap Store
Dunlap Brothers will add a new link to their chain by opening up a
nice new department store at Weleetka Okla about March 10th Weleetka
is a thriving town at the junction of the Frisco and Ft Smith and Western
Railways It is a division point of the latter road has a big cotton compress
handling each season from 45000 to 6 000 bales of cotton has a fine cotton
seed oil mill 3 big gins a good light plant waterworks system creamery and
iqe cream factory a fine 3-story brick hotel etc Our store will occupy the
modern 2 story brick corner building directly across the street from
the Post Office Adding this store will increase our outlet enabling us
to buy and sell merchandise in larger quantities and at lower prices There-
fore this is of interest and' importance to the patrons of our Coweta store
Wagoner County
Dunlap Brothers with large stores at Wagoner
Coweta and Porter is the only concern that at-
tempts to thoroughly cover Wagoner county The
first of the year we bought out the interest Mr C
A Wagner had in our Wagoner store and we are j
now increasing the stock and intend to make this
in every way the best and most popular store in
Wagoner So when you visit the county seat call
at Dunlaps
Oklahoma’s Biggest Buyers
That applies to Dunlap Brothers We buy more goods and sell more goods
than any other firm in the state Last fall we used in four months time fifty-
2 straight cars of highest patent flour from one Kansas mill and 10 cars from
another — $40000 worth of this one item alone In December we placed an order
for 1200 full cases of “Good Luck” baking powder the largest ordet ever sold to
a retail dealer in the entire United States Now our stores have just received
700 dozen new spring shirts— over 8000 from one factory And it is a matter
of record that we purchased from the Rice Stix D (L Co the leading house of
St Louis the largest bill of dry goods shipped out of the St Louis markets last
fall— $5000000 worth of dry goods from tliis one houe alone and so on down
the line And you know the man that buys the big quantity and pays the cash
gets the low price every time That’s why the Dunlap stores have no real com-
petition in Oklahoma
