banking law which sponsors
of the regular 512.
It was the 12th
daily decline for the Dow
Jones industrials.
Of 1,473 issues traded, 775
fell and 498 rose. New highs
the state senate.
It passed SB 491 and sent it
to the house by a 36-6 vote.
Sen. James Taliaferro (D-
Lawton) said a banker in his
district expressed fear the
changes might lead to
branch banking.
However, Sen. Beau Sel-
man (D-Tulsa), author of the
bill, said there was nothing
in the bill that would permit
branch banking. Other sena-
tors said they considered the
bill necessary.

“If you'll loook at the rec-
ord, you’ll see that Skinner
was not even at the scene of
the crime,” Carey said.
“It is unfair to us because
the implication has been left
in the papers that Skinner
actually pulled the trigger
when, in fact, he wasn't even
there.
“Obviously he is guilty as
an accomplice, but obviously
he did not do the killing. The
guy who shot him already
has been electrocuted.
One man, Herbie Franklin
Farris, was executed for his
part in the murder. Ray-
mond Price is serving a life
sentence, along with Skinner.
All were convicted of murder
in the slaying of Cravatt.

CHICAGO (AP) — Soybeans and grain
futures prices were sharply higher on the
Chicaqo Board of Trade Wednesday, in-
fluenced by the tension in the Far East.
While most of the bullish trend was at-
tributable to the Incident involving a Unit,
ed States naval craft and four Korean pa-
trot boats, there was some feeling among
the trade that the U. S. Department of
Agriculture stocks In all positions, to be
Issued later Wednesday might be
construed as bullish.
Soybeans advanced a cent on the open-
ing Wednesday, and corn, wheat and rye
moved ahead by % cent. The buying was
mixed with all facets of the trade In-
volved on both sides.
About 30 minutes after the odenina,
however, selling In all the pits reduced
the profit margin. There was some buy-
ing for export on the downscale and sell-
ers were laraely local professional trad-
ers.
Oats and rye moved generally with the
major commodities
Soybean oil and soybean meal also shot
ahead with the malor commodities then
fell back under profit taking.

Wednesday.
On the opening soybeans were a cent
higher and grains about % cent higher,
with the advances attributed to the ten-
sion aroused over the taking of a U. S.
naval craft by the North Koreans in In-
ternational waters, and an Influx of com-
mission house buying, indicating a ree-
wakened public interest.
Trade was mixed with all facets on
both sides. After the early highs had been
reached, profit taking in all pits tended to
weaken prices. Renewed buying around
mid-session firmed up prices.agaln.
Export buying in the malor commodi-
ties was noted on the downscale. There
was some Hedge selling at corn against
purchases in the country.
Near the close, the advance in wheat
was trimmed sllohtly.
Traders awaited the U. S. Department
of Agriculture report on stocks of grains
In all positions after the close of business
Wednesday.
Oats and rye trade was light and prices
moved with corn and wheel. Soybean oil
and soybean meal showed some early
str er a rh but it was dissipated near the
close under active local selling.
At the close, wheat was % to J cent a
bushel higher, Merch 1.47%-% corn was
% lower to % lower, March 139**;
oats were % to % higher, March 75%
cents; rye was % to % higher, March
1196 and soybeans were % lower to %
higher, Merch 2,73%-74
