Brood Sows — Breed sows now
for April pigs See that brood
sows take exercise
Lime For Soils — Many of the
'soils of Oklahoma need lime
j Have your county agent send a
sample of soil to the Oklahoma
IA Sc M College to be tested for
acidity
Hot Lunches — During fall and
winter months rural teachers
are planning to install hot lunch
equipment in schools and some
have already done so The hun-
rireds of school lunches with one
hot dish for eight years of
school life may mean the differ-
ence between a poorly nourished
child and a well nourished child
Give these teachers your ap-
proval and cooperation for these
things may be the ones lacking
to make of this movement a suc-
cess Flow the Garden — The soil is
very deficient in moisture If
possible or as soon as possible
the garden should be plowed or
forked up and left rough during
the winter By this treatment
the capacity of the soil for
catching and retaining moisture j0(jy invited
will be increased the physical
and chemical condition will be
improved cut worms and other
insects will be destroyed Win-
ter plowing will be a means of
earlier gardening which is im-
portant in Oklahoma
Shelter Dairy Cows — Milk
cows should be sheltered from
cokl winds and bad weather A
warm comfortable stable for
dairy cattle will be well repaid
in larger quantities of milk and
butterfat A dairy barn in Ok-
lahoma need not be an expensive
structure A good tight shed
