The three towns have
decided that they want to
use one big system that
can accommodate the
towns instead of three
individual systems.
Hudgins said he agrees
with the idea.
Miller said a system
that can support all
three towns will cost
around $175,000 and not
the $500,000 suggested
by Hudgins, but the com-
missioner said it would
cost $175,000 per loca-
tion ($525,000).
Miller said he is get-
ting bids on systems and
would like to have three
separate bids from three
separate companies.
“We’re going to get a
bids on a big system and
bids on individual sys-
tems but we know we
want one that can accom-
modate all three towns,”
Miller said.
and get the 911 system
functional,” Miller said.
"We need the 911 system
and cooperation is going
to get it going."
According to Hudgins,
there have been some
misconceptions as to
who is entitled to what
and how much money
goes where.
"(The E-911 system) is
a county program and
not a Mannford, Bristow
or Drumright program.”
Hudgins said. “Just like
the sheriff’s office is
county, and the treasur-
er's office is county. The
911 program is a county
program and these three
towns are the beneficia-
ries of this county pro-
gram. We need to work
together and the county
wants these towns to as-
sist us in getting this new
system.”
Miller and representa-
Creek County Ccmmis
sioner Dana Hudgins
wants the towns of Man-
nford, Drumright and
Bristow to assist the
commissioner's office in
implementing the new
phase 11 E-911 system.
"I invite the public of
these towns to help the
county upgrade the 911
system,’ Hudgins said. “I
would like the leaders of
the towns to get together
and find a way to make
this work.”
Mannford Police Chief
Lucky Miller said he also
understands the impor-
tance of the town agen-
cies' cooperation.
“We want what's best for
our citizens and it’s been

fives from Bristow and
Drumright met on March
23 at the Drumright City
Hall to discuss the po-
tential new system with
Ronnie Freeman, a repre-
sentative from AT& r that
specializes in 911 opera-
tions.
Mannford, Drumright
and Bristow make up
western Creek County
and the towns have
agreed to one big system
instead of three individu-
al systems.
However, Hudgins said
Freeman is a vendor and
the towns need to meet
with a 911 consultant
that isn’t selling a sys-
tem.
He said Mary Bailey
Harris is the foremost
911 consultant in Okla-
homa and has consulted
in the construction of
numerous 911 systems in
the state.
