of Christ, the church of Christ,
The history of the church of Christ is a complete
history. The Bible itself gives the complete history of
the church that Christ built. The Bible mentions the
church when it was only in the blue-print stage, when
it was in the mind of Christ but not in fact. Jesus said
“I will build by church” (Matt. 16:18). This teaches
that the church was not built during the personal min-
istry of the Lord. However, Jesus had said, “I will
build” and build he did!
From the period of planning, the Bible history of
the church continues to the day of founding, the day of
Pentecost after the resurrection of Christ. Chapter two
of Acts is the inspired account of the establishing of
the Lord’s church. The Bible history continues from
the day of the beginning and tells us of the persecutions
the church endured and the wonderful growth it had.

“THE CHURCH OF CHRIST THROUGH THE AGES"
The history of the church of Christ is inspired his-
tory. The history of Christ’s church is in the Bible. This
history is not the history of some church-building.
Earthly stones do not make up the church of Christ.
The history of the church is a history of souls. These
souls are living stones that build the church (I Peter
2:5). The Bible history of the Lord’s church is a his-
tory of redeemed souls. The Bible history of Jesus’
church is not the history of a denomination. Jesus’
church is not a denomination nor is it the denomina-
tions. Its history as found in the Bible began before any
denominations were born.
The history of the church of Christ is a DIVINE
history. It is not a human’s view of events. It is Christ’s
view’ of events. The Holy Spirit dictated the history of
this divine institution. It is a history of the house of
