vantage to our theme "Out West” so that we can wear our comfortable clothes

time between the reception, banquet and dance.
Headquarters will be the Wayfarer Inn. I S. 270 South.

Vol. 4 No. 11 & 12” JUNE/JULY, 1987
"OUT WEST, OUT WEST, HERE WE COME!” Everytime I gothrough my
last year’s convention notes I get more and more excited about our 93rd con-
vention in Woodward. All systems are go; the firefighters and citizens are roll-
ing out the red carpet for us planning our good time and we won't be disap-
pointed.
Fee is the same as last year, $45 for members and
delgatesand registration is $35 for ladies and guests We encourage you to
preregister to avoid the long lines. Forms for registration will be mailed to the
departments before April 20 with the Credentials Forms. Don't forget to
register your wife and any guest planning to attend. A preregistration for
delegates and guests will also be included with the Credentials Form. A reduc -
ed registration for the Saturday business meeting only is available to cities
with population under 1500. Registration will be $5 per delegate. Please make
the proper indication on the Credentials Form if you are taking advantage of
this reduced registration. Wednesday’s registration from 3 to 4 o'clock will be
in room 111 at Wayfarer's Inn. Other registration will be at the High Plains
Vo-Tech School.
All meetings will be held at the High Plains
Vo’fech School 2' mifes west and one mile south of the Headquarters Hotel.
This is a lovely facility with plenty of room where we can spread out and real-
ly enjoy ourselves. I can promise everyone a good seat where you can see what
is going on. Trust me! The Wednesday evening activity, Thursday afternoon
games and Dutch Lunch, and Friday evening's activities will all be held at
Crystal Park next to the Woodward Fairgrounds. The Park, approximately 1
mile away from headquarters, is a large grassy area with beautiful trees and
you ought to see the horseshoe courts!!! The Fair Building where we will hold
When you call the Wayfarer for reservations you may wish to give them an
overflow preference. Note: Negotiations with the Park Inn were not in the best
interest of the Convention or attendees, thus we are not using the Park Inn as a
Convention Hotel in 1987.
The Chamber of Commerce has offered to provide
free transportation to all our functions except golf. You can’t beat a deal like
that! Transportation will be furnished from all motels to meeting places, shut-
tled as the need arises.
On the opening day, a Memorial Service is held to
honor those members who were deceased since our last convention. In the
ceremony a candle is lighted and the bell is softly rung while his name is read.
Recognition of these brave men in this manner is our final tribute for their
