Town:
When he springs that old gag
about interest on the invetment
give him the horse laugh Only
feeble minded people charge inter
est on their investment
No doubt he’ll try to make you
believe that he pays his employees
salaries Any one with common
sense knows that isn’t being done
these days — too many people
wanting work
And if you ever bear of him
buving anything out of town that
he coutd have bought from you—
talk him up all over the country

Magpie Causes Death
to Horse Years Ago
After reading the article in last
week’s News about the strange
birds attacking cattle and caus-
ing several to die in Rogers coun-
ty (near Claremore) A L Jones
of Bloomfield was remided of a
similar case in Southwest Texas
where he lived as a young man
years ago His father lost a
horse by the attacks of a bird
they called the Magpie which
Mr Jones said was about the size
of and resembled the road-runner
somewhat However the Mag-
pie was seen alone and didn’t go
in droves like the strange birds
seen near Claremore Mr Jones
said the Magpie attacked the
horse along the back bone peck-
ed a hole in it Just as in the case
recently reported
The Rogers county case has
been" reported to the extension

Creameries ‘Op and
Coming’ at Shat-
tuck Mooreland
Prosperity Follows the
Dairy Cow in Good
Times and Bad
Reports come from Sbattuck
and Mooreland that the peode of
thos communities are rightly
proud of their locally home built
creameries
The Shattuck creamery churned
70000 pounds of butter last year
It is said their local creamery
is paying higher prices for cream
than any town around there
Mooreland Community Cream-
ery evidently is doing well too as
they said in an advertisemeut in
the Woodward County Journal
last week “patrons profits last
year $13440 06”
The News is giving these few
lines about these creameries to
lei folks know what is being done
in other communities in the cream
business and since our own peo-
ple out in the Camargo trade ter-
ritory have practically made their
living by producing and selling
cream all thru the years (and
especially during these dry lean
years) it is surely of interest to
them and to local business men
