NOBLER and TRUER STANDARDS
peep down in the hearts of children
and of men thsra-cro nobler and truer’
standards of living thin their outward
lives are wont to exhibit Many por-
sons wait foT their fellows to recognise
their higher and better aspirations be-
fore they are willing to act up to those
aspirations He whose higher motives
and deeper longings are unknown may
have his best acts 'misinterpreted but
he whose best spirit is appreciated i
more likely to have his acts interpre
ted by that spirit A ccbool teacher
on seeing a young scholar misbehave
said to him “I’m oorryi yoh did this
because 1 had forifled a Very good opin
ion of you ” The boy went home and
confessed to his mother that if he had
known what a good opinion his teaohei
had held of him he' would not have
done wroDg Had thla teacher 'Said
“I’ve had an eye on you for some time
and now I’ve caught you” the boy
would simply have been confirmed in
liis suspicion that no one expects a boy
to do anything but the wrong thing It
ought to be a simple matter to show a
child or u man that our first impulsi
toward him Is that of trust rather than
distrust And when one has gone
wrong he will be better helptd by our
showing that we appreciate the fact
that he has gone wrong in spite of the
good we believed him capable of lath-
er Ilian in accordance with our suspic
ions of him — S S Times

The announcement of O E Null as
candidate for delegate to the Constitu

week — too late to find space for com-

necessary to Mr Null’s success to com

northern half of Day Co am' to knew
him is but to respect him No man in

enemies than has Mr O E Null lie

the county and has for about four
years been Deruty Clerk for the Di-

better qualified to fill the office to
which he aspires with greater honor to
himself and to the district which no is
to represent than is Mr O E Null
