RICE— PARKS
At the home of the bride’s
parents Mr and Mrs N A
Rice at Forgan Okla Sun-
day July 20 Rev J: A Phil-
lips spoke the words that
united Miss Helen D Rice
and H Mercer Parks as hus-
band and wife -
These young people are
well and favorably known in
Hammon as' Mrs Parks is
the daughter of our second
agent at the Haminon depot
and lived here about a year
with her parents and made
many warm friends Mr
Parks is manager oftheMoad
Telephone system here and
counts his friends by those
who know him
' To show their esteem and
love for this young couple
50 or sixty of their friends
gathered at the depot Mon-
day evening to welcome them
to their new home but the
waiting crowd were doomed
to disappointment as Mr
and Mrs Parks left the train
at Moorewood and phoned
for an automobile which took
them to Elk City for supper
passing Haminon like a
freight train leaves a tramp
but we will forgive them if
they will promise not to dis--appoint
us again:
They returned to Hammon
Monday night and at once
took up the duties of house-
keeping in' the south part of
town where they are at home
to their many friends
The Booster joins the host
of 'friends in wishing this
young couple all the good
that there is to be had in this
life here below and with a
hearty hand clasp we wel-
come" Mr and Mrs Mercer
Parks to our little city
-o-
Concession and rac6 horse
men are already camping on
the ground getting-ready and
training their horses for the
Anniversary Celebration to
be held here August 78-9
