they will erect a City Hall and
jail in the near future The con-

this property was $57500 and
was in the judgment of the wri-

the oity The new building will
be constructed of brick perma-

long felt want The oity officials
will have a home of their own
and transgressors of the law will
find accommodations that will be
safe clean and respeotable We
did not learn whether a Jim

oity jail at present or not but it
certainly would be very desir-

the brick work and the work of
construction is expected to com-

all our friends who may have oc-

the new structure will make
themselves at home and not feel
that they are imposing on any

Killing at Chickasha
A feud between Chief of Polioe
Emmett Goodwin and Night
Marshal Bill Thomas at Chioka-
sha Oklahoma last Monday
night resulted in a pistol duel
in whioh several shots were ex-
changed between the combatants
and Goodwin was shot to death
This deplorable event was the
outcome of a long misunder-
standing between the parties and
a rivalry for the nomination for
the office of City Chief of Polioe
to be voted for at the Spring
election Much exoitement pre-
vails in the city owing to the
prominence of the parties involved
