Thus we turn away half shelly 1

sofne hioden and grt-nUr mt ail-
ing in the assurance which would
seem lo have filled Sdut John
with such ecstatic rapture that in
the last incomparable chapters of
Revelation lie t w ice reiterates it?
“There sha I bi no nignt there”
Glorious assurance la ter to be
merged in blissful reality when
the old earth shall have become
the new and God has wiped the
tears even from the most sorrow-
ful eyes When darkness and
the things of darkness shall be
forever swept away when sigh
ing shall have been exchanged
for eternal and everlasting glad-
ness and the vision of the 'eer of
the Apocalypse h ive become the
vision of a new creattd and spot-
less world
It is a beautiful picture Tne
fairest of all fair hopes And yet
our thoughts being intensely hu-
man thoughts are ever of “the
days that are no more” never of
“the good time coming”— com-
ing surely iho the waiting time
be long Dark may be the path-
way "leading from light to light”
but thru its darkest mazes One
will walk beside us One who
knows that dreary way best of
all who entering the heavenly
land thru the shadowy avenue of
death has come back to us thru
the golden gates of a thrice glori-
ous resurrection His hand it is
which will guice us thru the awe-
some valley of the shadow till
Morning's joy shall end the nigh
ot weeping
And earth’s long shadows break in
cloudless love
