Doing the Best You Can
Do the beet yon can at all times! That
should be the motto of every young
man who possesses ambition and the
desire to make a name for himself in
the world of business It he does that
at all times he has put his foot on the
first rug gf the ladder that leads to pro
motion and not before that time can
he fairly say that he has begun to climb
upward Doing work in a half-hearted
manner pntj a decided handioap qn the
yonng man’s future for the moment
that he regards his ork as a grind ha
is beginning to walk on thin ice that
will precipitate him into dismissaWrom
the service of the firm for whom he is
working: in troth be places an obstacle
in his path that cannot be surmounted
The difference between doing the
best you can and performing your do
ties in a half-hearted manner is easily
seen for the latter way of working can-
not be disguised as it has a false note
that can be distinguished by the em-
ployer The young man must make up
his mind to give his entire attention to
his work and not let it waver at any
moment of the day if he hopes to bet-
ter his condition in the form of promo-
tion He must make it a point to da
the best that he can whether the “old
man” as many young men term their
employers is there or not for the “old
man” has been through the mill as it
were and he can easily tell whether all
his employees are Jomg their best work
or not HE CANNOT BE FOOLED
VERY LONG!

SCHOOLOPENED MONDAY
The Texola Public School opened
Monday with a goodly number in at-
tendance The teachers in charge are:

Martha Barrett teacher of Grammar

Evans as teacher of Primary grades
With the above selection of teachers

an excellent term of sohool However
no teaoher'ean give the community the

hearty co-operation ef the patrons of

some difficulty with the teacher don’t
get mad and stop your child from school
or tell it to tell the teacher not to do so
and so or threaten to whip the teacher
but go to the teacher and help him find
the trouble Remember parents YOU
have as much to do with the success of
