About Resignation
OKLAHOMA CITY ’ (L’P)—
Dr J P Gray Dean of the Univer-
ity of Oklahoma medical school
derded Thursday that problems of
policies and politics were a major
feature in his decision to leave the
school
The dean’ denial followed a
story in the Daily Oklahoman indi-
rating that le-'k of democracy in
the school departments aborncs
of a definite policy on uxmotkni
and low faculty morale contribu-
ted to his resignation which be-
comes effective in about a month
The story was tied to the ap-
pointment by Dr Gecrge L Cross
university presdent of a 10-member
advisory committee of stata
physicians to smooth out the
chod’s internal affairs before
Gray’s successor is named
The dean said be resigned pri-
marily because be felt the school
is hobbled by insufficient appro-
priations from the state legisla-
ture He said he saw it wa im-
possible to make the kind of pro-
gress he had in mind when he
came to the school 13 months ago
