More About Mary
Mary had a little lamb
Also some Brussels sprouts
She likewise had a little bird
And lest you have some doubts
We 11 say that Mary also had
A little bit of all
The highest-priced comestibles
The waiter could recall
Mary had a little heau
Who had to pay for it
And when the waiter brought
the check ’ ' -He
nearly had a fit
“And THEN SOME”
' -w
Mary had a motor car
That smelt like gasoline
And everywhere that Mary went
It sceuted up the scene
It followed her to school one day
And everybody guessed
That Alary ’d got her summer

My Old-fashioned Mother
Thank God I had an old fash-
ioned mother Not a woman of
the period enameled and painted
whoes white jeweled hands never
felt the clasp of baby fingers but
a dear eld fashioned sweet
voiced mother with eyes in
which the Lve light shone and
brown hair threaded with silver
lying smooth upon her faded
cheek Those dear hands worn
with toil gently guided my tot-
termg steps in childhood and
smoothed my pillow in sickness
even reaching out to me in yearn-
ing tenderness when her sweet
spiiifc was baptized in the cold
spray of the river of death
Blessed is the memory of my old
fashioned mother! It floats to
me now like the sweet perfume
of some woodland blossom The
music of other voices may be lost
but the entrancing memory of
her’s will echo in my soul forever
Other faces will fade away and be
forgotfon but hcr's will shine on
until the light from heaven’s
shall glorify my owni Years have
filled great drifts over between
her and me but they have not
hidden from my sight the glory
of her pure unselfish love In
some sweet day I hope to kneM
again at mother’s knee and say in
sweet contentment: Mother here
