press for this action now. He
has treated &U alike. No favor-
itism is shown anywhere.
Anent this sentiment here, we
took the article published in Sun-
day's Oklahaman from Kmd in
which appears the following:
••The fight on Judge Beauchamp
has made the friends of Dennis
Flynn sore, and the fight has
been waged by McGuire support-
ers. While no one has accused a
Flynn man of bolting the ticket
still it is an evident fart that the
Flynn crowd is not working^ this
campaign. Without them McGuire
wiUfind himself lacking in votes
this fall, because it is a matter of
history that the delegate owes
his election to the work of Fer
guson, Grimes. Flynn et al. This
year, they are looking out for
themselves, and the sore spots
made by the fight on the judg*
of this district are sai«Jto be still
tender" to .ludge Beauchamp
and asked if he had anything to
say regarding it. and he rep ie ^
"Nothing, absolutely nothing-
It has been an open secret
among the republicans here, that
McGuire wa« behind the fight on
Beauchamp, and efforts to keep
the matter quiet have so far suc-
ceeded that it has nofbeen gener-
ally known. It is galling how-
ever. te the Judge's friends and
when they find that the present
delegate is fostering the villianous
charges against him, it will but
cause more of the honest, fair-
minded republicans to repudiate
the candidate whose only claim
to their suffrages is broken prom-
ises and persecution of honor-
able men.

Has there been a county officer
or Jury in Washita county since
Michigan man made his appear-
ance that th© H.-S. did not mis-
represent and criticise. Perhaps
he don't like the oolob—of their
politics.
Compare G. E. Wagner with
his strong smell of Carpetbagism
writing the county republican
antipaes platform, while at the
same time carrying a rail road
pass in his pocket,—with the
generous honesthearted friend of
the people on the Democratic
ticket for Probate Judge.
This gag the republican candi-
dates are giving the people that
they always vote for the man re-
gardless of politics in county af
fairs is all rot. We defy them to
name one democrat they intend
to support in this election or
prove that they ever did vote for
single democrat. Over in Logan
county your party elects negroes
to office over white democrats.
Do you belong to the same party?
Would't you do the same here,
if conditions were the same?
It does not take an expert to
find in the county records where
G. E. Wagner and another re-
publican member of the equaliza-
tion board for the city of Cordell
voted to out the valuation of city
property to Just half what the
country people were paying and
where W. B. Tharrington voted
against this measure. Is this why
the H.-S. calls him unsociable
and bull headed because he
wouldn't stand for this graft.
Thanks to the democratic com-
missioners the graft did not work.
Is'nt it amusing to note the
whines of those 'articles bearing
the ear marks "of Robt. Payne,
coined with the assistance of the
editor of the H.-S. and some of
the republicans candidates, about
Tharrington as a neighbor and
school trustee. Perhaps the pain
in Robort's stomach was produc-
ed by the cold shoulder the peo-
ple gave him when he was an as-
pirant fer said office of scho«l
trustee, and when he was invited
by the people to go a way back
and sit down and after failing to
coerce W. B. Tharrington to em-
ploy a republican pet of his to j
teach the school. It looks cow-
ardly to rush into the mudsling-
ing business under the nom de
plume of a democrat. Say Rob-
ert. did you not present yourself
at that democratic primary two
years ago and offer to pledge
yourself to support Tharrington
because you knew him to be in
everyway worthy? Why this
change of heart; why don't you
come out boldly and tell who you
are and why you are howling and
not try to pose as • a democratic
neighbor?
