The Woodward County Branch of
Oklahoma State Poultry Federation
will hold their annual Poultry Show
in the Community Puilding at Wooa-
ward on December 11 to 1G This
show promises to be the finest ever
held in the county and everybody
will find it well worth their time to
attepd Those having good standard
bred poultry should have same on
exhibit and everyone in the market
for breeding stock or eggs should be
ir attendance
They have a large well ventilated
room in which to hold the show and
all steel coops for the poultry thus
making a very fine display

trymen of the United States being a
member of the Executive Committee
ol the American Poultry Association
will judge the poultry People hav-
ing good poultry will find it to their
advantage to bring it and have Judge
Branch pass on it

ember 11 and the poultry may be
taken away Saturday December lf
On Wednesday December 13 a spec-
ial luncheon will be served by the
Chamber of Commerce of Woodward
for the school boys and girls of the
county and their parents and all
others interested in poultry
The poultry industry is one of the
most important enterprises in this
county Come out to the show Dec-

quot arrested two fellows from
Blackwell Saturday who were shoot-
ing quail out of season on the A S
Sehnoebelen place east of Mooreland
One of the hunters gave his name as
Harris Judge Baird assessed a fine
of $2500 and costs making the three
quail they bagged cost them about
$1000 a piece
A few more arrests and fines v ill

game laws of the rtate

growers Association is in receipt of
the following communication from
John Manly Secretary-Treasurer of
the Oklahoma Whcatgrowcrs Associ-
ation: “It is now time that we are making
arrangements for a concerted action
in organization work and to bear
this out I am forming county or-
ganizations on which the responsi-
lility will be thrown Organizations
have already been formed in Alfalfa
Grant Garfield Kay Noble and King-
fisher counties so I am coming to
Woodward County the first week in
December for the purpose of holding
local meetings and explaining to the
growers actual facts and figures as to
what has already been accomplished
in organization and in marketing and
also of electing directors for the Coun-
ty organization of Woodward County
which meeting will be held Saturday
December 9 at 2:30 p m at Wood-
ward “I will be in your local to meet all
the members nonmembers and any-
body who cares to attend and I hope
tl at you will have this meeting so
thoroughly adv rtisod that everybody
ir your community will be there

II L Gardner has installed a radio-
phone receiving set in his residence
in this city
Mr Gardirtr received his set Tues-
day erected the aerial and received
messages Tuesday evening He tuned
in on Kansas City Fort Worth San
Francisco and other broadcasting
stations
Mr Gardner intends handling the
aparatus His instruments are of the
Simplex manufacture
The Aztec pueblo set that figures
so conspicuously in “White Eagle”
Ruth Rolland’s newest Pathescrial
caused widespread interest and hardly
a day passed during the making of
the picture that some illustrious au-
thor sculptor or archeologist did not
make a pilgrimage to the Hal Roach
studio to see either the “sets" in the
studio or in the canyon

The play given last Friday evening
ly the Senior class of the Mooreland
High School was a gohd one and was
artistically presented The attend-
ance was good the auditorium being
taxed almost to its capacity
A good attendance shows an ap-
preciation of the young people’s effort
and is a real encouragement to them
BIRTHDAY SURPRISE
Mrs M P Dotzour assisted by her
daughter Mrs Cora Britt of Poca-
tello Idaho entertained a few guests
at six o’clock dinner Monday evening
in honor of Mr Dotzour’s birthday
The main feature of the dinner was
the large birthday cake containing
sixty-six candles
SCHOOL ENTERTAINMENT
The grade pupils of the Mooreland
Public Schools gave a Thanksgiving
entertainment in the High School au-
ditorium Tuesday evening The
little folk did splcndly and the house
was full of iuicrested listeners

repeating shot gun in he Ruttman
Garage office petting ready to go on
a duck hunt Of course the gun was
not louded but after the reverberation
from the discharge got out of Lee’s
cars he found that a' charge of shot
had bored through the window frame
breaking out a big glass Several of
the shot from the charge are now be-
ing carried in various parts of men’s
anatomies Garland Phillips and Mr
Nichols and son who were standing

the street fro r the garrge were bit
one shot lidging in Phillip’ week
two in Mr Nichols’ leg and several
went through their hats A window
was broken in the restaurant and sev-
eial shot went through the screen
door and embedded in the partition

boy but luckily no one was seriously
injured
