William C Nixon elected Pres
ident of the Frisco Railroad
August 24 has in the three
years in which he served as Re
ceiver and Chief Operating Ofli
ce” brought the property to a
high state of physical and official
efficiency
Mr Nixon began his railroad
service as a railroad carpenter
and has worked tli rough practi-
cally every department The re-
sult ts he is thoroughly conver-
sant with the details of railroad-
ing He was born Feb 15 1861 at
Earlviile Illinois was educated
at Washington Illinois and en-
tire J the railroad service as
bridge carpenter in 1878 tie en-
tered the service of the Santa
Fe as night watchman became a
clerk at Albuquerque agent at
Lis Cruces and continued up
until 1885 when he was advanced
to trainmaster of the Southern
Kansas Ruilroid In 1889 he
was transferred to Kansas
City as Superintendent of Ter-
minals He continued to rise in
the Santa Fe service and in 1902
became Vice President and Gen-
eral Manager of the Gulf Colo-
rado & Santa Fe which position
he held until July 31 1906 when
he was appointed Vice-President

under the Receivers July 14

The managers and directors
of the Wilson Township Fair to
be held on Thursday Sept 7

Wilson who will arrange a
proper exhibit hall for 11 field
orchard and vegetable products
also a place to exhibit the stock
in fact manage everything in
order to make the fair a great
credit to the entire Township
