It seems now that the marshals
office is in a quandary as to who
shall pay the field deputies for
their quarters work ending the
30th of June. To an outsider it
looks easy, inasmuch as there
was but one marshal in the north-
ern district at that time.
Miss Lena Hervey and Miss
Amanda Laird, who have been
visiting in the city for the past
month, left for their home at
Morrilton. Ark., Tuesdayevening
They were accompanied by Mrs.
Laird, who will spend the re-
mainder of the summer at her
old home.
Howard Hale has purchased
the Gray stock of merchandise
in the room next to Draper's

hour. Mr. Neilson says that he
will not attempt any more
parties, as it always results in
