We have at last been able to
fix the exact date for The Mes-
senger's Special Illustrated
Edition. We have delayed for
some time on account of our
inability to secure competent
assistance. We were enabled at
last to engage experienced help,
and now assure our readers that
not later than October 3rd, The
Messenger will issue its hand
some'illustrated edition of 10,000
copies. Not only will it be the
most comprehensive write-up of
Claremore and vicinity that has
ever been published, but it will
tell inaninterestingand instruct
ive.way of the people who go to
make up the community of which
Claremore is the commercial
head. There will be many splen-
did illustrations to embellish
the pages. We hope to present
many of our public men, hand-
some buildings and pretty homes
not only in town, but surrounding
country. In short we propose to
prepare a history of Claremore,
past, present and future, some-
thing that will be authentic, that
we may send out to the world to
tell others what manner of people
we are; something that we may
keep ourselves and refer to as
the years go by with everincreas-
ing pleasure. We believe devout-
ly that our advantages are so far
ahead of the towns, that once
the fact is known we will reap
our reward in a greatly increased
population, and it is to impart
this information that our present
task is undertaken. We shall
attempt to put one copy of the
issue into every home within the
trade territory of the town.

scholars companions, pencils etc.

a copy of the first daily penny paper
ever published in America—the New
York Sun. It is dated September
1833, three column folio, pages 9x12
and is set in nonpareil. Rev. Allen
has been in possession of the paper for
near thirty years add it has been re-
markably well preserved and is quite
interesting to peruse.—Arrow.

day evening, September 15.
It i a fact that rents in Claremore
are much more reasonable than in any
town in this section of the Territory.
This is also true of property values.
Many towns with not half so good a
location and business output, are
charging twice as much rent on their
business and resident buildings. We
call attention to this fact, not tbet
rents may be raised, for that would be
a mistake, but to show one great ad-
vantage for prospective investors to
locate with us.
