derground crossing east of town

visiting his sister Mrs Humph-
reys of Cold Springs Oklahoma
returned home Saturday
Many of the farmers are sav-
ing the high price of coal by cut-
ting and hauling wood from the
Washita river Those who have
timber give it away if the stump
are taken out of the ground and
the brush burned
A rather unwelcome visitor
was found in Herring & Youngs
ware room Monday The in-
truder seemed perfectly at home
among the boxes of goods stor-
ed in the wareroom adjoing the
grocery and hardware - room
Though no unpleasantness had
been experienced he had a re-
putation of long standing which
made his presence undesirable
He was accordingly shot down
and his body disposed of as quiet-
ly as possible He is generally
