Hands Off
We want to caution our fellow
Republicans about scattering re-
ports reflecting on Democratic
candidates We have not beard
of any Republican doing this
but want t advise them not to
do it
There is now a report going
tbe rounds relating to one of the
opposing candidates it is being
circulated by Democrats and just
let them handle it
We know nothing of the truth
of this statement but do know
that if a Republican assisted in
its circulation that it would be
said to be a campaiga lie Origin-
ating and kept in circulation by
Republicans and Socialists Lets
keep oar part of the campaign
clean and untainted and keep
ear skirts clear of scandal ' and

Fealing SiRiuiai
Several representatives of the
Republican ticket wereinTaloga
Sunday They report that they
are being reoeived by the peo-
ple everywhere they have been
with much interest They have
made many friends over the ter-
ritory covered and find a strong
sentiment among the Democrats
against the ring and against ring
rule
' Oar boys are making a clean
campaign eliminating indulg-m

campaign entirely on tlii-ir up

minded to think it but 'hey are
mixing and mingling with the
people and giving tbe people a
chance to size them up and tbe
people are tbeaones who are iba-
king those claims in regard to
superiority
Fact is a comparison is exact-
ly wbafc we want and we are not
not afraid after a comparison of
the ability and private and pub-
lic character of the men to leave
it with the people
The people as a rule are not
bound up by party principles
when it comes to voting for
county officers and are sincere
in want’ng their affaire conduct-
ed by honest- - accommodating
and economical officers rather
than by Democrats Socialists or

D C ADAUS
There seems to be some ques-
tion in the minds of tbe people
whether or not we elect a C un
ty Coroner under the const itution
bat the call issued by the chair-
man of our party calls for a
nomination for Coroner and the
the Republican party' has put
forth for this office Deweys Co’s
well known M D for this office
Dr Aaams has resided in our
county over seven years first lo
eating at Lenora and later at Ta
loga He has built up a large
practice in tbe county and his
skill as a practitioner is recogni-
zed by most every one in the
county: Hi reputation built up
on his success shows conclusive-
ly that he is the right man ' ' for
this office His large practice is
evidence of bis fitness
Dr' Adams aoility was recogni-
zed by the Territorial- board' of
health who four years ago ap-
pointed him Superintendent of
the county board Vote for Dr
Adams and you will assist a man
who is big enough in every seuse
of the -word for this important

GEORGE W KOUNS
The Republican party could
not have selected a morj popular
or capable candidate for Register
of Deeds than Geo Konns
Obliging painstakins courte-
ous and affable are some of his
prominent traits of character
and in addition he writes a good
hand and is in every way fitted
both by nature and education for
this office
George has resided mw this
county about 8 years coming
here from the r"r'—tr r‘

southeast of town He has al-
ways been considered a fixture
in bur couuty A few years ago
he sold his farm and engaged in
the grocery business in Taloga
founding by establishment new
conducted byS H Wbittenberg
He iucceasfully ran that busi-
ness for a while then sold it
and bought out tbe blacksmith
business now conducted' by Dave
Cook He traded that bosiness
this spring for Mr Cooks farm
south east of town
Ioallhis undertakings George
baa been successful and has gat-
hered around him a ’ large circle
of friends of all political - parties
who are proud of an opportunity
to cast a vote for him'
George has been a leading spi-
rit in tbe masonic fraternity of
Dewey Co be was a charter
member of the Taloga lodge and
baa assisted in tbe organization
of tbe other lodges of tbe county
he is reputed to be about tbe
about the tbe beat posted man in
Dewey Co on Mssourv
There is no man in Dewey Co
who stands higher in the estima-
tion of all who know him tbau
does Mr Konns Tbe reason is
that he has always been honor-
able and on tbe square in bis
eyery transaction
The people respect and honor
this kind of a citizen and feel
that a man of this kind is tne
kind of men lo fill county offices

‘'JAUEST AT HARPFR
So popular has been the re-
cord of James A Harper Repub-
lican nominee for Commissioner
of district No 2 that he waa re-
nominated by acclamation — No
opposing candidate and not an
opposing vote This testimony
as to an official record is simply
phenominal when you stop to
think that the Commissioners
office is one of the most difficult
county offices to fill to the entire
satisfaction of every one
They come in direct conflict
with so many people on so many
occasions and there are so many
intricate and delicate' questions
constantly coming up for their
consideration that a man who
has given the satisfaction that
Jim Harper has and then is re-
nominated without a single grain
of opposition certainly stands
high in the estimation of his con-
stituents It is a familiar saying among
those who have had bnsiness
before tbe board of' Uountj
Coma -and a familiar thought
among those who have watched
and studied the deli Derations of
that board “that Dewey' Co
only has one Commissioner and
that is Jim Harper"
He has the h'ppy faculty of
being right on all questions: This
is not an accident bat due to the
fact that he has given his duties
as laid down in tbe statue a care-
ful study He is one County offi
cial who recognizes the import-
ance of his duty to the people
He is cognizant that h was pot
there by his constituents to do
their business — that he is a ser-
vant of tbe people -
Jim has the backbone and the
moral courage to stand up for
what he thinks is right and his
duty Broad minded and prog
res8ive conservative and econo-
