In perusing the columns of the
Fowler (Cal.) Independent we
noticed what appeared to be a
"Peruny advertisement," but
wl.icli proved on closer investi-
gation to be a likeness of our old
friend, J. Ross Gould, formerly
foreman of the Thomas Tribune,
now editor of the Independent.
J. Ross has made good in the
newspaper bizz and is now a can-
didate for assemblyman, and if
he is elected, and we hope he
will be, will make good. J. Ross
is not as handsome as the Record
