Canadian Valley Record
by c. s. Mcdowell.
Bntmd as second class matter September &
1806. at the poat-office at Canton. Okla.. under the
Act of Congress of March 3. 1879.

Canton. Blaine county. Okla.
SUBCRIPTION $1.00 PER YEAR
Talk about trusts; what about
the eee trust? The American
hen should be investigated and
tfied a la Sherman.
The expected has happened.
Watterson has called Gov. Wil-
son a liar. The veteran from
the Southland evidently over-
looked the fact that the Gov is
not a editor, hence the awful
rumblings in the democratic
camp.
An optomistic citizen offers to
bet a ten dollar bill that Canton
will have a population of a
thousand within the next five
months And we didn't have the
nerve or ten to call him. We
beliere he is right. Watch the
Queett Bee grow.
The political pot is boiling
1110* . Straw votes taken at
various citi'dIndicate that Teddy
is a strong favorite at a two to
one shot for the Republican
nomination for president. Teddy
is sure strong with the average
American regardless of political
beliefs and has the confidence of
the common people as well as the
bloated bond-holders. All be-
lieve that Teddy is able to and
will give everybody a "square
4eal," And we believe that under
a reasonable amount of Moral
suasion Teddy will consent to
accept the office for another term.

Weather fine at this writing.
The few warm days last week
seemed so much like spring that
we could hardly keep from plant-
ing corn.
R. A. Gettings has returned
from his visit out west. He said
it was awful cold out theae.
Geo. McMichaels caught two
big wolves last week.
Mrs. Frost and P. A. Gettings
spent a pleasant evening with
the McKay family Thursday of
last week.
Mrs. Starrett and lamily took
dinner with the Nippert family
Sunday.
Grandpa Templeton has moved
to his home on the Nippert place.
C. C. Gettings is contemplat-
ing on going back to his place
in Colorado.

PLOWING TIME
Tis strange sometimes how
anxious people are to buy scap.
If a man bites off a corner of a
cake of the sample they get hun-
gry for soap and would give
two-bits for a piece the size of a
thimble. Soap is a mighty gocd
thing for some purposes but when
the agent has to eat it to sell
beware of the exhorbitant price.
And we have always found the
soap sold at the Canton stores a
pretty good article to make the
dirt get up and chase. And a
stranger did not have to recom-
mend it to us before we com-
menced using it either.
Ben Rogers, our
and friend came
Wichita and spent
with old friends and neighbors.
He said he sure liked his work
and the city of Wichita.
