Leonard Leroy Burke was born
at Norwood Wright Co Mo Feb
3 1896 died at Catesby Feb 28
1918 age 22 years and 25 days
Roy as he was called by all who
knew him was in the first call of
the draft army and placed in
camp Travis where he contracted
measles This disease left his
lungs affected and he was given
discharge and came home but to
linger a few weeks with us
Roy was converted in the Y
M C A meetings in Camp Tra-
vis Funeral services were held in
the Methodist Church at Catesby
Saturday March 2nd at eleven
oclock A large crowd of
friends and neighbors were pre-
sent to show their appreciation
of the sacrifice which he had
made and offer symphathy to
the sorrowing family
Interment was made in the
Bickford Cemetery

the time as it was filled with fun-
ny expressions and comparisons
We hope that we will be fortun-
ate enough in having Mr East
man next year so we can hear
him at his best
The Plane Geometry class un-
derwent a severe test in which
many of them failed We say the
professor can certainly think up
some fine originals

mary All the rooms are busily engag-
ed in Red Cross work
