A horse ran away with a pretty Wis-
consin "llrl. A stalwart young city
fellow who was spending his vacation
in that part of the woods, caught the
horae and saved the yonng woman's
life. In her eonfualon she began apol-
ogising for the horae'a action, where-
fct he advised her that he didn't blame
the horae for running away with her
—he would have done the same thins
himself. I guess "he's on," too, judg-
ing by the regularity with which he
goes Wisconsin ward every Saturday-
night.
No, dear, Joan of Arc was not
Noah's wife. She was only a distant
relative on the side of the Ark.
Some men know a blamed sight
more about the rules of baseball than
the rules of business and the Bible.
The man who Is on the level finds
smooth walking through this vale of
tears.
When you give your wife enough
money to last her two months st the
aea shore and tell her to come home
when that is gone, you may expect her
back In about five weeks.
When a man marries for revenge,
the other male person to the argu-

venge.
Even an Iowa man will occasionally

The Canton people are "puffed
up on account of the success at-
tained by the late Fair. The af-
fair was a grand success from
every point of view. The exhibits
♦ere numerous, and the attend-
ance large and everybody had a
good time, so far as reported.
"We would like to have given a
*i*t of the premiums awarded,
only for the fact that we were too
busy to gc and see the secretary's
list, and he was too bysy to fur-
ish us with a copy. But our
friend Martin A Blehm secured
five premiums, while others were
equally as lucky. The managers
of this, Canton's first fair, have
cause to feel proud of their
achievement.—Longdale News.
Thrills.
A poet friend of mine wrote a poem
on the front of the otily shirt he owns.
He sent it away and contrary to all I
precedent, the editor accepted it. Now
my friend is confined to the house'
with a bad attack of affluence until
the magazine remits and he can buy
another shirt.
