Well you know sometimes a
man will get caught in Lis own
trap and this hapuened to one of
our neighbors Of late his wife
had been missing things for
some time but had not
thought much of it until this
spring she worked hard one
afternoon helping her hnsband
prepare a hot bed for bedding
sweet Kjtatoes and as it was get-
ting late she said to husband you
take the potatoes and bed them
and I’ll go and prepare supper
and wtien he came in about bed
time he said to wife I tell you
bedding those potatoes was quite
a job In a Jew days she thought
she would examine the potatoes
and see if any was rooting and
she scratched up half of the bed
and found no Ktatoes she re-
ported to huabsnd he said oh
wife I know they are the re come
and I’ll show you he went to
the potato bed and scratched
where he knew he hail put a few
potatoes and said see there they
are alright yes but says wife
there is none on the other side of
that bed and the poor fellow
couldn't explain it away but said
j some body sure had stolen those
potatoes but after an investiga-
tion by the good wife she found
that one of her neighbors who is
a widow lady had more potatoes
bedded than they had and the
same kind of potatoes
