This immediate neighborhood
is beginning to need rain One
good one will insure a big corn
crop if it falls anyways soon
Then it will be of great benefit
to the row crops more especially
the feed stuff Threshing is
progressing slowly on account
of the heavy straw and from
present iqdications it will be
late before all are through All
in all this community is a little
bit the best in the state and any
one that is a resident hereabouts
and isn't glad of the fact should

The Record man likes a whole
lot of being a prophet but we
will bet a pair of blue red-birds
that this fall will see the big
gest business boom in Hinton
that has come this way Wheat
and oats are already made big
yields at that com is practically
made with stalks bending near
ly double under the weight of
the fruit the peach and apple
crop is far ahead of the ordinary
and with all this there is bound
to be good times just ahead of
us Which brings us
point now is the time
your property build more houses
and above all organize for a
fair this fall
The Elberta peach crop began I
moving Monday of this week
Frank Hukill and Han Wilson
are gathering their crop and
putting It on the market as fast
as possible qnd there are several
others around that will be doing
the same at once Messrs Hu-
kill and Wilson will have about I
3000 bushels together The I
peach crop here is good this
year and as they are bringing
around $200 per bushel they
will be the means of putting lots
of money in this country Let
'em move! ' -

It has been mentioned r- to us
that we might boost the raising
of poultry ‘’around Hinton
through the columns of The Rec-
ord True but in this day and
time most everyone has' comn ion
sense enough to raise all 'the
poultry and other stock they cun
without being told to every
week Of course if we catch on
to a new wrinkle about any thing
in this line we will he glad to
mention it but as all like to

Yes ma’am The Record is
aware of the fact that it has
failed to mention several items
lately of great news value but
just so long as our friends fail to
tell us of their visitors their
trips and etc jusi that long
will this thing continue -The
Record is anxious to tell every-
thing that happens around here
but unfortunately for us we
are not a centipede j consequent-
ly cannot be ' everywhere at
once If you will remember
that this is your paper printed
for your benefit and is to chron-
icle the happenings concerning
you probably you will also re-
member to wise us up to the
news then we will have a newsy

A G CARLILE Manager
No man is infalliable 1 We all
make mistakes The K state de-
partment of public health may
be erring in its drive to stop ty-
phoid fever in this state by nocu-
lating our citizens free of charge
but I don’t think so ’
The reason for this bulletin is
that I have received a few com-
plaints mostly ’ from doctors
against spending the state’s
money to inoculate the people of
the state against one of the
most ravaging diseases’ 4 knows
to man Our offer in this drive
is that to those who are unable to
pay their physicians to have the
vaccine administered the state
will protect them from sickness
and death for two or three years
free of charge
Now I want to ask in all
kindness and fairness what
these friendly critics can offer
as a better substitute way of
spending the few cents that
each treatment costB? Can
they not realize that for every
case of typhoid fever we pre-
vent during and after this drive
that the state is saving hundreds
of dollars in loss of labor cost
of treatment etc ’
And do they not believe that
there is no better way than
can spend a very small portion
of the money alloted to roy de-
partment than in helping the
man of meager means to save
himself and his wife and babies
from disease and death? That
is my view at least -and I am
going to hew to that mark qa
long as I am commissioner '
The typhoid inoculation cam-
paign will continue through Au-
gust You owe it to yourself
your family your town your
state to avail yourBelf of the
state’s offer I am pleased and
honored to be at your service in
this matter and I am sure' that a
vast majority of our citizenry
is with me
