Plcher Okla Nor 1— More mas-
querades were on the streets of
Ploher Wednesday night than parti-
cipated in previous Hallowe’en
events- according to pioneers
The celebrants were active on two
nights Tuesday and Wednesday but
no damage was reported The soap-
ing of windows was apparently about
the worst offense committed by the
"goblins”
Many attended the firemen’s ball
at the Winter Gardeh Tuesday night
and masquerade skating events
Tuesday and Wednesday nights at
the Plcher skating rink where mana-
ger George Boughton awarded prizer
to Miss Josephine Parmer and Rich-
ard Mays for the best costumes Tues
day and Ho Odessa Coffman and O
N Stanley for best costumes Wed-
nesday night

H Callahan is In return for his life-
long study of George Washington's
Masonic life and for the Information
he has contributed on the subject
One of the articles which was depos-
ited In the cornerstone was a copy
of his volume “Washington The
Man and the Mason” a work which
has figured largely In the organi-
zation of the memorial association
In addition to the ceremonial com-
mittee named Callahan was assist-
ed by every grand master In the
United States or an accredited re-
presentative of such official Every
grand lodge In the country was re-
presented at the cornerstone laying
Each grand master received a silver
trowel with which he aided in
spreading the mortar and which will
later become a part of the memor-
abilia of his grand jurisdiction
The receptacle in the cornerstone
also contains a copy of the Holy
Bible the Constitution of the United
States the Declaration of Independ-
ence a Hisory of Freemasonry In
the United States a History of
George Washington and copies of
the charter seal constitution and
by-laws of the George Washington
Masonic National Memorial Associa-
tion In addition each state or grand
jurisdiction deposited something
from Its own records or history
thus carrying out the original plan
which- makes the memorial a part
of the life and contribution of every
master mason in the United States
