High Waters Do Damage
The heavy rains of tbe past few
weeks winding up with heavy
down-pours Sunday and Monday is
causing much damage to property
and erops in the lowlands bordering
the Arkansas ami Verdigris river
bottoms
The Verdigris has overllowed its
hanks more than onee since the
opening of the rainy season and
damage to grow ing crops has been
quite serious
The 100-font steel span over ditch
“I” in the Verdigris river drain-
age district has been washed out
and bids for substructures have been
called olT
The waters Mowing into the Ar-
kansas river from small tributaries
and heavy rains in Kansas have
caused that placid stream to "git
her hack up” and overllows are
noted at several dilTerent points
hut in this vicinity no material
damage lias yet been reported
At and near Tulsa the Arkansas
is doing much damage — the Sand
Springs dam has given way and big
gaps in railway Much have been
washed out and many trains have
been delayed
Tuesday morning the Arkansas
was out of its hanks at Muskogee
and rising at a rate of an inch and a
half an hour
It was reported to us this morn-
ing that Coweta Creek was also on
a rampage heaouse of the heavy
rain last afternoon and evening and
that some of those living along its
hanks in West Coweta were forced
to move out
It was also reported that the wa-
ters in the Arkansas were up to
within two or three feet of the Moor-
ing of our line $40000 bridge south
of town and that two houses and
various kinds of live stock could he
seen Moating down the turbulent
stream

oner under date of Monday to the

in Tuesday's issue of that paper

with her husband The petition
alleges that the couple married six
vears ago and have two children
Allen claims that his married life
was happy until last summer when
Ilausam persuaded him to rent a
piece of land near his own home
and live on it Allen claims that
while lie was at his business Ilau-
sam would frequent his home at-
tempting to make love to Mrs Al-
len and finally gaining her confi-
dence by his lavislmess

The report reached here yesterday
afternoon that Mr Clyde Dunlap
and Miss Marie Martin had been
married Wednesday morning at
Muskogee departing shortly after-
ward on a honeymoon trip to Sft
Louis We were unable to learn
the full particulars of the wedding

Three Weeks
The photoplay that has created
a distinct sensation in Muskogee
and that has caused more talk and
press comment than any picture
ever shown there namely "‘Three
Weeks” comes to our own Jewel
Airdonic tonight direct rrom it’s
record-breaking three day run at
the Gaiety theatre in that city

Phoenix and Times-Democrat it
was noli d that although the tiateiy
seats over a thousand people the
management of that playhouse was
unahlo to handle the crowds that

widly discussed picture A pictor-
ial dramatization of Elenor (ilyn’s
sensational romance of the same
name the photoplay follows the
hook closely and nothing is omitted
from the all absorbing storv
“Three Weeks” startled two conti-
nents when it was tirst published
and over eighty million people have
read it The picture is approved
by the National Hoard of Censor-
ship and this is suMicent gurnntee
that it will not o fiend
Remember tonight only at the

Clyde Dunlap was over from Mus-
kogee Tuesday looking after store
matters here and dropped in dur-
ing the afternoon to hand us copy
for an advertisement and say “how-
dy” Clyde is the junior member ot
