I.N. Terril, the famous ex-con-
vict, entertained our people by
several speeches on the street
last Thursday and Friday. Those
who heard them say the speeches
were red hot and have no doubt
that they contained much truth.
A destructive fire visited Wy-
nona, in the Osage nation last
Saturday night destroying one or
more tanks of oil in storage. The
fire could be plainly seen from
here and many of our people
thought it was the town of Hom-
iny on fire.

Tax-Payers Mass Meeting.
Persuant to a call issued in
'this paper last week a large
'crowd of the taxpayers of the
township met in the town hall
' last Saturday afternoon to dis-
jcuss matters certaining to the
affairs of the township. It was
decided to build one or more
j stone culverts and see if the
same is practicable and if so
several hundred dollars will be
j spent in that manner. It was
further agreed that some $!HX)
be spent in working the roads
and putting them in shape, This
will be a great help to the tra-
veling public.

Fairfax Outclassed.
A big game of ball was played
at Fairfax Monday between that
town and Pawhuska. When the
game was ended the Fairfax
boys were surely willing to ad-
mit that they did not understand
the game. They were outclassed
in every respect and the score
was something like 22 to 0.
