Sunny Side Dairy is ' working
overtime these days " making
ready the new home for his dairy
The Hillery’s will move back In
town in their home residence on
North Meridian where Mr ! and
Mrs Hurst have been living Mr
Hillery is moving the old build-
ings from the back lot and is re-
placing them with modern build-
ings suitable for his dairy products-
The pasture adjoining prop-
erty of Hubert Patty ' has been
leased for grazing purposes and
Mr Hillery is very optimistic re-
lative to the change He says he
will be better located and will be
in a position to serve his custo-
mers better They expect to move
In the very near future
Comanche is proud of our dairy
and also proud of the splendid
service rendered through the ef-
forts of H H Hillery Cleanli-
ness Is the watch word with
quality and quantity we feel that
there is nothing lacking

BURNED AT CHICKASHA
C S Wade of Comanche owned
the building which suffered the
heaviest loss in the fire at
Chickasha Friday in the 200 block
on - Chickasha avenue - -The
blaze started in the Mid-
West theatre about 1 a m and
did the most damage to the Wade
property occupied by the theatre
and by Cleo’s Cafe Some dam-
age also was sustained - by - the
Local Building it Loan Associ-
ation the Moore second hand
store and Arcade rooms

‘ An outstanding event of the
Christmas holidays was the Yule-
tide party given Friday evening
in the home of Miss Betty Ann
Randel This gathering brought
the membership of the ultra-
smart younger set which consti-
tute the “Little Theatre Club’’
Miss Randel received the boys
and girls in her home which ap-
peared most attractive with its
holiday dress of Yuletide green

STEPHENS COUNTY SHARE
Enough federal relief funds
were alloted to Stephens county
to make nearly 2000 heads of
families become part-time wage
earners during the next two
months
The money Is nearly double
that which the county received
in November and December and
becomes available for the next 60
day-period It amounts to $20-
300 - - :
About half of the 3487 men
who have registered on the un-
employment lists' of Stephens
county are tenant farmers The
others according to John Brooks
superintendent of made-work are
idle oil field workers and unem-
ployed ' city residents
About 250 men registered at
Marlowand about the same num-
ber at Comanche In Duncan the
registration - was near 500 The
balance of the names came from
residents of rural parts of the
county - -
Not all of the 3487 men who
signed the unemployment lists of
Stephens county will show up for
work Many of those who signed
do not want to work
Some of them able ' to work
will not do so as long as char-
ity is available a relief worker
said Others signed but are not
eligible because they draw govern
ment pension 1 or have other em-
ployment ”
Single men without dependents
previously barred can now share
in the made-work of this county
but no two men in the same
family can be placed on the made
work Jobs '
BIRTHDAY PARTY
George Copland Jr' celebrated
his ’seventh birthday’ Friday De-
cember 31 Sixteen of his friends
gathered at the Copland home
All the children were enthusi-
astic as George Jr opened his
numerous gifts During the after-
noon the children played many
games
The chldren drew numbers by
which they found their places at
the table There were clever acorn
nut cups at each plate
The centerpiece on the table
consisted of a farm yard scene
Each child drew an animal cor-
responding to the number on the
nut cup
Those enjoying the delightful
