RESOLUTIONS
Resolutions adopted by the Co-manche-Cotton
County Baptist as-
sociation in session August 31 1933
at Emerson Baptist church
LAW AND ORDER REPORT: We
as a Christian people believe that
the Constitution of the United States
is in accord uith the Divine plan
and the word of God That the laws
of our country are for the advance-
ment of mankind intellectually phy-
sically and morally IWe view with
Mrs Glyn in her statement de-!Inrtu the violations of law in our

those who are deeply and sincerely n‘ local in their character We note
in love with Three Weeks” to sec it the flagrant violation of the Vol-

“Three Weeks” as a hook received
a lot of the type of publicity it did
not deserve I was determined that
when it came to the screen it would
he a genuine and a real portrayal
of my book I spent every minute
on the set I oversaw the making of
the costumes I myself wrote the
titles so now when I myself leae
the finished product in America I
do so with genuine happiness and
joy in my heart

WHY ADVERTISE?
It is only the foolish merchant to-
day who does not believe in the va-
lue of advertising and who docs not
recognize it ns necessary for the
continued growth of his business
It is no longer a question of Shall
I or shall I not advertise? hut sim-
ply a question of To what extent
and in what way shall I advertise
Circulars novelties rnlcndurs
direct muil all have their appeal
hut when all is said and done and
when results are compared with the
cost the merchant realizes that the
local paper is the best and cheapest
method of letting the buying public
know what he hns to sell
It is tho everlasting cry of the
sniull town tradesman “Oh I have
been here for years and everybody
knows me” Yes everybody knows
thnt church starts at eleven o’clock
on Sunday morning but they ring the
bell at 10:30 just the same “Every-
body knows me” is only half-truth

There is more truth than
in the following verses:
One step won’t take you very far
You’ve got to keep on wulking
One word won’t tell folk who you are
You’ve got to keep on talking
One inch won’t make you very tall
You’ve got to keep on growing
One little ad won't do at all
You’ve got to keep them going
1 because:
A constant drop of water wears away
tlie hardest stone
The constant gnawing towser— masti-
cates the toughest hone
The constant cooing lover carries off
the blushing maid
And the constant advertiser is the
one that gets the trade
