Mr Bert Weakley one of Your Uncle
Sam’s naval heroes arrived home Mon-
day with an honorable discharge sungly
tucked away in his pocket ‘ Bert run the
blockade of the undersea pirates and
flirted with death by way of the boche
religious dictum spurlos versenkt nine
times on the trips to French ports but
the goody fates dealt him a fair weather
tl deal and he comes home to gladden the
hearts of his loved ones in the conscious
pride of having done a grown man’s full
part in making impotent the menace of
German supremacy This young gentle-
man has played his part in the biggest
adventure offered in life The strict dis-
cipline of naval duty is iow a soul obli-
gation— aye a part ot his every day ex-
istence and a blessed part it will prove
thruout all his days on earth Bert has
found himself and the future opens
bright for him— always the reward ol
duty well and faithfully done
The world ought to hear more about
that little Baptist Church out there in the
country near Ranger Texas There are
said to be but twenty-nine members com-
posing the congregation and their church
wealth is estimated to be worth $1000000
If they wished to they could sell out for
cash and divide the proceeds among the
twenty-nine of them As it is they are
receiving returns at the rate of $100000 a
year and have voted to appropriate nearly
all of it to Baptist philanthrophies Al-
ready they have distributed $20000 that
way It is an inspiring example of un-
selfishness It is an unusual tribute to
the sincerity of the Christian principles
maintained by a group of men and women
whose lives heretofore were lived in ob-
scurity and abstemiousness It is indeed
a most heartening exhibition of the sort
o! religion which should be lived rather
than professed It serves mightily to re-
store to the doubting a healthful faith in
humanity Merryman Baptist Church
will be the means of blessing mankind
Is there a city church filled with ostenta-
tious capitalists which has ever done half
as much in proportion?
Avoid irregularity in the bow-
el movements it leads to chronic
constipation a condition that
poisons the blood and breeds dis-
ease Prickly Ash Bitters re-
stores regularity and puts the
system in order The price is
