for the monthly meeting and in-
stallation of officers
A pot luck dinner proceeded the
meeting with the American Le-
gion members as guests who re-

session after the dinner

National Meeting
Mrs Claude Meadors will re-
present the 4th District of the
American Legion Auxiliary at the
National Convention in Los An-
geles Calif September 8-7 as the
retiring president of the 4th Dis-
trict of the department of Okla-:
homa
Mrs Meadors lists some of the
accomplishments of tha year work
with 31 units In the district 21
units were responsible ' for send-
ing 65 girls to Girls State in Chich-
asha in June Child welfare work
was outstanding with pledges to
the amount of $16800 There are
14 children sponsored by 12 units
at the home school in Ponca city
Clothing sent' to these children
amounted to $85041 and allowance
$10972$ ' At present there are
110 children with 15 been ad-
ien Incorporated" and is now
nearly completed with 438 shares

a federal designation for SH 9
in the meeting represented by 45
members from 8 towns
Young said the next move by
the association will be an at- 1
tempt to learn specific objection''
held by the route numbering com-
mittee of the American Association
of state highway officals which
vetoed the federal designation

posal the route committee told
