DEATH OF REUBEN T EDWARDS
Reuben T Edwards a highly re-
spected citizen of Wagoner died
suddenly at the home of his son
John Edwards’ west of the city
Friday morning He with his wife
had dived on the old home farm un-
til a short time ago when they
moved to town to live life easier in
their' declining years and he had
rone hack to the farm to make a
ew days visit when the death sum
mom came He was a good Christ
ian nan and his greatest joy was
in serving his Master He had at-
tended church only a day or two
before he died and his pastor and
friends last memory of him is the
testimony of the Christian life he
ever lived in this meeting The
funeral service was conducted on
Saturday afternoon at 3 o’clock by
Rev Campbell pastor of the Pen-
tecostal church and interment was
made in Elmwood cemetery
Deceased was born in Bath roun
ty Kentucky a little more than
eighty years ago He leaves l is
aged wire and two sons John s id
James Edwards of Wagoner to
mourn his loss
Mrs Della Parkinson went to
Tulsa the last of the week to visit
a few days with her daughter
Mrs J C Parker and aooompany
her son Lee home Mrs Parker
and baby daughter Maxine visited

telligent careful and efficient man
ner in which they handled the fire
at our home which ocoured dur-
ing my absence We feel that ev-
erything was done that was possi-
ble under the circumstances to
save our home and its contents
I am especially Uiankful to Di-
vino Providence that it did not oc-
cur in the night when it might not
have been discovered in time for
all to have been gaved I am

COUNTRY CLUB MEETS
The Country Club met Saturday
evening at the hospitable home of
Mr and Mrs Emmett Cleiand noHh
east of town Saturday evening

ure Next Saturday evening the
meeting of this popular club will
be held at th& pretty country home
of Mr and Mrs M M Jones east of
town then Uie weekly meetings will
be discontinued until after the
harwst season when they will again
be resumed
Misses Mary and Lizzie Ratcliff
are attending the '’summer school of
the Northeastern State Normal at
Tahlequah Miss Mary has just
graduated from this school and now
holds a life certificate They write
home that Wagoner and Wagoner
County is largely represented at
the Northeastern there being about
forty teachers in attendance

Muskogee visited Sunday at the
home of his father Capt J P Cal

through a little ad he inserted in
the Record It was read Jiy anoth-
er subscriber of the Record at Fay-
etteville Arkansas and' the team
was located at once in that vioini-
ty It had been sold there by
thieves for $150 Mr Morris has
now gone to Fayetteville to olaim
his property
