spring A Fairchild and his wife
expect to start for a trip through
the western states in their automo-
bile If they find a desirable loca-
tion they may not come back to
live here again For a long time
they have contemplated this trip
and that is the principal reason why
he did not make a more aggressive
campaign to be re-elected county
attorney last fall Mr Fairchild
and wile have a lot of friends over
the county who are glad that they
can take the trip and want them to
enjoy the needed rest: but are wish-
ing that they decide to come back
permanently

Monday Mrs J F DeWitt was
burned quite severely oh the hands
and face following an explosion of
gas which had accumulated in the
kitchen range She had started to
clean the soot out of the range and
poured the kerosene into the stove
which she thought had no live
coals in it The oil ran down to the
ashes which had hot coals in them
and immediately an explosion fob
lowed She ran to the neighbors
and they telephoned for help at
once A doctor was called and he
left her resting as comfortable as
possible under the circumstances
She is recovering nicely though it
will be some time before the burns
are thoroughly healed
