At the purebred stock sale held
at Cherokee last week a number of
the farmers and stockmen of this
vicinity attended and as a result
purchased some fine individual stock
Harry Hoff one of the big stockmen
of the community north of Amorita

Scotch Shorthorn male consideration
$11000 Tom McDonald And Sid
Daniels also purchased fine red and
roan Shorthorn males paying $8000
for same W A Swingle who for
several years has specalized in pure-
bred stock besides being one of the
big sellers of stock at the sale was
also a purchaser of some excellent
stock Mr Swingle purchased a fine
full blood Scotch Shorthorn for
$15000
This is a starting of better stock
Jn this community and from now on
the purebred cattle will predominate
While ther has been a number of
purebred breeders in this community
for some time the interest in this
class of stock has not spread to a
general interest which is prevalent at
this time The raising of purebred
horse stock has been uppermost in
the minds of the farmers and stock-
men of this viclntiy for a number of
years and as a result this commun-
ity has some of the finest horses in
the state We are pleased to see
Amorita farmers taking an interest
in purebred cattle as well as horses
and it will only be a matter of a few
years until we can boast of as fine
stock in this department as can be
found anywhere — Amorita Herald
