A GREAT GAME
WITH ATOKA Lb! AG l'K
The best ganve of ball that has
been pluyed on the home ground
was played last Sunday with the
Atoka League team the final score
being 2 to 1 in favor of Coalgate
after ’eleven innings of very fast
base ball
It was a pitchers battle between
Boggs for Coalgate and Perkins for
Atoka with the honors nearly even
until the final inning when Atoka
scored on an error and a wild
throw then Coalgate came up for
a final rally and after one man was
out Perkins began to aviate and be-
fore he came down he had walked
the next two men and the next
man hit a fast one to the first
baseman who chose to throw home
to cut off the run but the runner
hooked safe while 'the ball went
wild and the winning run came
over and the best game of many
days was over — — —
Perkins contended that the ball
was too wet to use and proceeded
to throw It away but he was pre-
vailed upon to usy it as Boggs had
used the 'same ball Just before and
it was the last ball In piay there-
fore he was obliged under the rules
to iiBe it
This makes three wins in a row
for the home boys and tlrey are
piaylng a very good brand of ball
and every one should go out to see
them for all vrfib missed the game
Sunday sure missed a theat as
Boggs was in form and allowed
Atoka only five ots while Coalgate
got only seven off of Perkins but
Boggs pitched the stediest - game
while the work of both infields and
