Pap-Up Week seems to have
gained universal popularity
and we would suggest that
every week be pay-up week
or instance in the print shops
he workmen must have their
jay every week That’s the
rule Now if a newspaper can
jay every week where is there
iny excuse for others not pay-
ng Besides if they would do
this it might make it unneces-
sary for the “pay-end” of the
paper going down the street
with a smile when as a matter
of fact he coul dalmost weep
or some Kail to liquidate his
obligations Pay-up week is
now here for every subscriber
or others who owe the paper
jet’s make each week a pay-up

ull of sense as any article of
similar size as was ever print-

of “Submarine Att a c k on
! Booze:” “For a married man
who cannot get along without
drinks the following is suggest-
ed as a means of freedom from
jondage of saloons: Start a
saloon in your own home Be
he only customer (you’ll have
no license to pay) Go to your
wife and give her two dollars
o buy a gallon of whiskey and
remember there are sixty nine
drinks in a gallon But your
drinks from no one but your
wife and by the time that the
first gallon is gone she will
have eight dollars to put into
the bank and two dollars to
start business again Should
you live ten years and continu-
ed to buy booze from her and
then die with snakes in your
boots she will have enough
money to bury you decently
educate your children buy a
house and lot and marry a de-
cent man and quit thinking
about you entirely”
Simple precautions which parents
should take with children going to
school and which will go a long was
toward insuring their health and well
being may be found in the following
“Don’ts:”
Don’t permit the child to go to
school without breakfast Tea or
coffee and a roll is an inadequate and
improper meal for the growing

Burn Traih to Destroy Grape
Insects
Several grape insects winter among
the fallen grape leaves in trash in
vineyards and much may be done to
destroy them if the trash be raked
together and burned Such work will
be of value against the grape-berry
moth and the grape leaf-folder which
hibernate in the pupal condition in
the fallen grape leaves The grape-
vine flea-beetle and the grape leaf-
hopper spend the winter as adults
under trash of all kinds in and about
vineyards and the destruction of
trash as indicated will expose them
to adverse climatic conditions

The editor of the Capron Hustler
stated in last issue: “The supposi-
tion is that the editor was away doing
penance for some of the things he
has been saying lately about Woods
county people” It has eventually
developed that the Hustler man goes
very strong on supposition and that
probably accounts for the reason he
tried to defend the brutal attack of
his pet county officer It is a usual
conclusion that men who defend an
act are no better than the perpetra-
tor The Hustler man also complained
about the way the “pie” was cut when
he dined here Investigation develop-
ed that the waiter heard Mr Hustler
lauding the brutal act of Strothers
and cut the pie in harmony with the
estimation formed of the defender
