Good news spreads rapidly and
druggists here are kept busy dispens-
ing freoione the recent discovery o!
a Cincinnati man which is said to
loosen any corn so it lifts out with
the fingers
A quarter of an ounce costs very lit-
tle at anv store which handles drugs
but this is said to be sufficient to rid
one’s feet of every hard or soft corn
or callus
You apply just a few drops on the
tender aching corn or toughened
callus and Instantly the soreness is
relieved and soon the corn or callus
is so shriveled that it lifts out with-
out pain It is a sticky substance
which dries when applied and never
inflames or even irritates the sur-
rounding skin
This discovery will prevent thou-

Germans Make Determined Stand
By United Press '
Paris July 24 — The German crown prince this morning
countermanded the retreat orders to the German forces and
decided to make a determined stand in the Soissons-Reims
salient
In countermanding the retreat orders the German crown
prince ordered the rear guard of his forces to stand before the
Americans until they were shot to death Despite his orders
the rear guard was forced to 'give away before the combined
allied attacks The rear guards along practically the entire
front fell before the withering fire of the allied shot and shell
and are now retreating Before the violence of the American
assault the Germans are being wiped out and taken prisoners
The advance by the allies is proceeding cautiously along
all lines owing to the fact that great masses of German re-
inforcements have been thrown into the fray and the increasing
resistance shown by the enemy on many sectors of the great
battle indicates that the Germans intend making a permanent
stand- New German reserve divisions are being constantly
rushed in and are now identified with the fighting forces
The decision of the crown prince to make a determined
stand in the Soissons-Reim salient is borne out by admission of
Germans taken prisoners who confirm the report of the stand
and also the report of the increasing reserves being ruBhed
into the battle Military men believe that the German poli-
ticians fearing the internal effects of the huge retirement has
forced a change in the plans of the crown prince
The German losses in this region is estimated to be between
125000 and 150000 men including 25000 prisoners
