In the most eveningly matched
game of the season Jet defeated the
Alton Mercantile team of Enid
Sunday on the home grounds by a
score of 6 to 5 - Knadler failed to
get his usual home run but West
made up for it by getting two Jet
got 8 hits and Enid 5 Our boys
made more errors flto Enid's 4 but
with the exception of one they were
not costly -Vickers struck out 13
men while the Enid pitcher Finnell

Frank Meyers of Helena umpir-
ed the game and the borne boys as
well as the visitors' expressed them-
selves as being well satisfied with
the decisions Thy were fair and
just to both sides
ibe Alton Merc Co tells a fine
line of goods and you buy
anything under that label you are
sure of getting the best going hence
the Jet people rather expected that
the ball team of that name would
measure up to the usual standard
But it seems that Old Man Alton
doesn’t give the ball team the
attention he gives to the other pro-
ducts of the Company The Alton
boys are a gentlemanly bunch of
players and the Company can be
proud of them even if they don’t
win every game

school expenses when he gets ready
to go away to school

Married Men 13 Woud-bes 7
In the ball game Tuesday between
the married men and the single
bien the former took the candy by
a score of 13 to 7 ' It was easy
picking and the score would have
been greater if the married men
had batted the last half of the sev-
enth inning
Dr Pence for a consideration of
three hundred dollars agreed to
pitch three innings but after getting
warmed up he finished the game at
the same price
Nearly every player of the singles
occupied the box except Nixon and
he being the only one who could
catch the ball had Jo remain on
first- Of course their catchere
Green and Carson could catch but
aside from those it was one continu-
al round of muffs
The married men are thinking of
challenging the first team
