most disastrous fi.'e the Glenn
Pool Oil field has ever suffered
this afternoon destroyed nine oil
tanks with all aggregate capaciiy
of 65,000 barrels, and entailed a
loss of approximately $75,000.
The fire originated from {several
strokes of lightning during a be-
vere eleclrical storm.
The heaviest loser is the Gulf
Pipe Line company. One of its
largest tanks, having a capacity
cf 55,000 barrels, and constructed
ut a cost of $.12,000, was de-
stroyed.
The oil fields of Oklahoma
have suffered several severe losses
j among them one of last summer
' that was caused ill a manner
'similar to this, which cost the
i losers approximately $40,000,
| Another heavy loss was caused
! by a small cyclone that swept
j| through the heart of the field.
