cumseh, anil has a good trade, which he

was Highly complimentary to the occasion.
A very amusing feature was indulged in
by Nim Woodard, Dr. Cutlln, and J. II.
llebard by coining In an express wagon
drawn by ox, carrying umbrellas and
gold beaded canes to call on tho ladles
and tender them their beat wishes for a
happy new year. It provided much tun
for the Mesdaines us they bad this ox
driven to the barn ami well fed for tho
gentlemen unknown to them, whnn the
time elapsed for their departure they had
considerable trouble to find their convey-
ance. Altogether with about 7."i callers
this royal reception was one of the most
enjoyable and suceesaful affairs ever giv-
en iii the city of Tecumseh.
Progressive Crokinolc Party.
At the beautiful residence of Mr. and
Mrs. Frank Adams, settlor, their son and
daughter Mr. and Mrs. J. Benson,
gave to a small number of their many
friends a ''Progressiva C'rokinole" enter-
tainment on last Monday, New Year eve.
The evening was pleusantly spent in
plii) ing games, after which refreshments
were appropriately served, with dt light-
ful music rendered, all watching tho old
year out and the new year in. At this
late hour nil departed for their homes, de-
claring tho host and hostess tho best of
entertainers.
