THE ENID EVENTS, ENID. OKLAHOMA. THURSDAY. MAY . 1 1 .
OUR COUNTRY'S AT WAR—
Do Your Part
When your Country calls it's your duty to answer "Here am I" and do what you can in the best way you can. When Hoover says "save"
it's your duty to save—when Uncle Sam says "produce" it's your duty to do your part in every way possible. If he calls for corn—raise
corn, wheat—raise wheat, meat—raise meat.—If he wants ships and planes do what you can to build them and when he has them built, the
question of supplying fuel, comes. He is calling every day for
MORE OIL—MORE GASOLINE
and it's up to US to get it for him in order that the enemy may be driven from our doors.
You CAN, if you will, help produce these very necessary products for which Uncle Sam is calling, but in your helping "be conservative"
and wide awake-put your money where it will work for you and for your Country—where you will get returns, worth while, and today we
are introducing to you (if you are not already acquainted with them) The Garfield Oil and Refining Company, of Enid, a home concern; a
company whose production will be shown, in its highest efficiency, on Sunday, May 12th, on the Salt Plains where we furnish all Gasoline and
Oil for the Aeroplane flights and Auto races. Also the cross-country flights through Cherokee, Byron, Driftwood, Ingersol, Carmen, Aline,
Fairview, Helena, Goltry, Lahoma, Drummond, Waukomis, Bison, Hennessey, Kingfisher to Fort Sill.
JUST A SHORT HISTORY OF THE COMPANY, WHAT THEY ARE DOING AND WHAT THEY ARE GOING TO DO.
Capitalization $150,000.00. Par value $1.00 per share. Incorporated under the laws of Oklahoma for the purpose of handling every phase
of oil business. diMBHrai
The Garfield Oil and Refining Company with suffi-
cient capitalization is producing oil and developing leas-
es which are absolutely proven.
Their conservative capitalization and conservative
business methods insures every stockholder the greatest
amount of profit. Their capitalization is ample to take
care of the business of the Company. Four wells are
now being pumped into the Prairie pipe line from our
own power plant.
Under the present system of operation the stock-
holders should receive a 100% return on the par value of
all stock held, before 12 months pass by.
We have just paid a 5% dividend to some 1800 stock-
holders and the 1st of July will pay around 10 to 20%.
Then on October the 1st, the third of our quarterly divi-
dends will be paid and may reach 20 to 25% and the bal-
ance of the 100% dividend will be paid in later divi-
dends. You can't let an opportunity like this slip by and
feel that you are doing yourself and country justice.
THE HOLDINGS OF THE COMPANY
it
One proven lease in the Nowata field where over
90% of the wells drilled are producers. We have four
'^producing wells on this lease. Acreage in the Garber-
Billings field near the Barnes well with production on all
sides. With your help and co-operation we will have a
big well on this lease soon.
3000 acres in Dewey, Woodward and Ellis counties.
Several locations for wells have been made near this
acreage and two wells are now drilling offsetting same.
This acreage has a splendid report as to its oil possibility.
But the nice part is it does not cost the Garfield Oil and
Refining Company a penny to test it out.
Do you know any reason why you should not become
a security holder in our great organization? Do you
want to do your bit toward winning the war? There is
no question about that as every red-blooded American is
only awaiting an opportunity to assist this Government.
Do you see why you should purchase Oil stock? Yes, you do.
paying such enormous dividends as the
Now that you have decided .to help, do not delay.
The primary question to decide is, in what way can I ren-
der the greatest assistance and at the same time make
this investment give me back a good profit. This is the
business side, and, one every energetic citizen takes into
consideration.
The purchase of stock in well managed Oil corpora-
tion has proven, beyond doubt the best investment, and
one yielding the greatest returns, of anything now of-
fered to the public. Not only do you reap a big interest
on your investment, but you are assisting in producing
the Oil with which the Allies are today sending thou-
sands of planes over the Hun lines, demolishing their
forts, playing havoc with their communications, de-
stroying their army camps and railroad stations. Not
only is oil used for the planes, autos and trucks but by
the big steamships carrying our soldiers, supplies and
provisions to France.
Now is there an Oil Company doing business in this section of Oklahoma
Garfield Oil & Refining Co.
No. Then is there one argument why you should not invest in our stock, paying as it will, 20% interest on an investment at $5.00 per
share?
