ledge that the efforts of our county
I commissioners in investigating the
management of affairs and the condi-
tion of the county's finances and in
bringing suit against delinquents and
defaulters, are being hindered and
made futile by an unprincipled and
lawless element at our county seat and,
Whereas certain county papers are
through slanderous and calumniating
articles doing the cause of the people

several other county offices have been

Another Rousing Meeting
At a mass meeting of the citizens of
Mathewson township, irrespective of
party, at Pleasant View school house
the following among other proceed-
ings were had:
Whereas, recent investigations have
demonstrated the correctness of
rumors and direct charges against
many of our public officials, and
Resolved that we heartily endorse
the action of our commissioners in in-
vestigating the various records of the
county and in bringing to light the
crookedness of many of our officials,
therefore be it further
Resolved that we demand of our
county attorney that he prosecute
vigorously all defaulters and others
guilty of crime as soon as possible,
and especially after being ordered so
to do by the commissioners or else step
down and out. And we demand that
the county commissioners secure the
service, of some other attorney a upon
the failure or the refusal ol the county
attorney to act in the cases at once.
Be it.further,
Resolved that we endorse and com-
mend any party whatsoever, that
combines the Jeffersonian test, \i/..
honest and efficiency, and that we de-
nounce the opposite, be it found w her-
ever it may.

the dollar while at the same time our

City at two per cent per annum. And,
Whereas there are found delinquent
on the county tax roll- some $1'IOO
against the Rock Island Railroad Co.,
on which no -orvice has been had,
Therefore be it by the people of
Okarche and Rock Island.
Resolved, that we demand immedi-
ate and decesive action aguin-t the de-
linquent corporation as also all de-
linquent corporation a.- a I so all default-
ing officials.
Resolved, that Judge Dale merits
our severest censure for his unjust
ruliings and that this be considered a
demand for his immediate resignation.
Resolved, that to our worthy com-
missioners our highest praise and ap-
proval are due for their faithful efforts
ic behalf of the people, and that we
pledge them our support and assistance
against the corrupt and lawless ele-
ment and that T. F. Hensley, of the
El Reno Democrat, who for the past
three years, virtually carried his life
in his hands in his tight against the
same corrupt element is deserving of
our gratitude and assistance for the
courageous manner in which he has
striven to keep our people informed on
the corruption rampant at our county
at.
