ed all the way from five to twenty.

Goodnight, Mr. ('has. Rider and Jas
Dos-i all testified to tbe good con*
duct of the charged.
The vote in the council stood live
for sustaining the charges and three
ajainst. Mayor McErlath stated
that lie thought, the charges were net
sustained and vetoed Ithe ac'.ion of
the council and retained Mr. itt as
marshal. Seeing considerable preju-
dice against him Mr.Witt resigned his
place. Mr. Ansfene also resigned
from the force.
