LEGAL P.ATTLE AS TO WHO
WILL PAY TAX ON ORE
Miami Okla. June 10. Placing of
ad valorem tnxos in zinc and lead
valued at J2.r00000 by the county
assessor against ore buyers and
smelting companies has resulted in
a hearing before the county board
'f equalization here today. An Im-
posing array of attorneys represent-
ing smelling interests in this sec-
tion contended that the tax should
Ins placed against mining companies
in whose bins the ore was resting on
Juno 1 while mine operators claim
that ius the smelters had contracted
for the ore before that date it was
ihe property of the ore buyers. The
smelting Interests claim that it did
not become their property until de-
livered which was aflc-r Jau 1. Taxe.s
amounting to $50000 are Involved.
The county attorney recently render--d
an opinion holding that the ore
was taxablo against the ore buyers
but that this opinion is attacked.
Each ease will be taken up separ-
ately fifteen having been filed. The
hearing is expected to occupy several
days

INTEREST GROWING IN
BIG REVIVAL MEETING
BY DR CHAPPELL HERE
"The Great Detective" will be the
theme Dr. Chappell will use tonight
ut the tabernacle at the corner of
Broadway and B. This is one of the
great messages that will be delivered
during the meeting. Prayer meeting for
thn women in the auditorium will be-
gin at 7:45 and for the men at the
same time In the league room.
Dr. Chappell preached one of the
strongest sermons last night that h.i
has delivered during the meeting. '"Fu-
ture Punishment" was the theme. Dr.
Chappell believes that there Is a future
punishment for those who are not
saved. Ho stated that Christ made it
plain that there was a future punish-
ment. That one of the main reasons
that He came Into the world to die
for man was to save him from this
punishment. He said that the subject
was often evaded and that men dia
not like to talk about it but Just as
sure as time passed men and women
would take their abode In either heav-
en or hell. Ho gave an example of a
mother who stood by and watched her
babe - as it was placed In tho earth
and covered up. She knew that that
was the only thing she could do as
the babe was dead. That Is true with
reference to those who are dead in
trespassing and sin. Hell Is a deposit-
ing place for all sin. Since men are
either going to heaven or hell this
Important subject of future punish-
ment should be carefully studied. Ir
a child were in danger the mother and
father would rush to Its rescue re-
gardless of sacrifice. But many fathers
and mothers fail to realize that ths
children living in sin are in the
greatest danger that cotld possibly
be Imagined the danger of future
punishment. If one should decide to
go Into a new country one of the firat
things that he does is to study the
geography and leam all about it
Then why not study about the place
of "Future Punishment?" There will
be millions of people who will spend
eternity there. Dc Chappell stressed
the length of time that the wicked
would have to spend in hell. He said
that it would be forever and forever.
He also stated that because some peo-
ple did not believe in a hell did not
do away with It. That if there wert
not one person that believed in it
there would be a hell Just the same.
With all earnestness possible he plead
with the men and women to give their
Uvea to Christ. All should hear the
subject tonight. Tomorrow night Dr.
Chappell Is ot preach on Heaven.
Don't miss these services if possible.
